Colleagues at Platform are finalists in two top awards schemes.
Stacey Bowling – a Service Manager at Platform Property Care, a subsidiary of Platform Housing Group - is a finalist in the Woman of the Future category in this year’s Women in Housing Awards.
Katie Gilmartin, Head of Business Development and Innovation at Platform Housing Group has been shortlisted in two categories, Professional of the Year and Woman of the Year; she has also been shortlisted in the Inspirational Colleague of the Year category in the Housing Heroes Awards.
The winners will be unveiled at a ceremony on Monday 26 June at Manchester Central, alongside Europe’s largest housing festival, Housing 2023. Huw Edwards – the anchor of Britain’s most popular TV news bulletin, the Ten O’Clock News - will host this year’s awards.
At just 31 years old, Stacey managers 19 operatives and is the driving force behind commercial performance improvements whilst increasing employee morale and safety. Statistics supporting this over the last 12 months include 100 per cent health and safety compliance within her team, a reduction of 87.38 per cent in backlog works, less than 0.001 per cent of formal complaints against works completed and increased productivity through engagement of frontline teams.
Stacey said: “I am absolutely delighted to be shortlisted for such a prestigious awards scheme. Being recognised in this way is thoroughly rewarding and I am humbled to be in the finals. I value my colleagues and Platform Housing Group enormously and am honoured to be involved in ensuring we are both commercially viable and customer focused.”
Both award schemes celebrate the leaders, innovators and changemakers across the sector, shining a light on the work carried out by teams and individuals during the past 12 months.
Katie Gilmartin is responsible for developing Platform’s approach to MMC and delivering future proofed homes; part of her role is to convince the board and the sector as a whole that they should be spending more on building homes from MMC and similar methods now, instead of waiting to see what happens in the future. Over the past 12 months Katie has brought together colleagues and customers to create networks that deliver sustainable and good quality homes for Platform’s communities.
Katie said: “It’s an honour to be recognised in these categories among some extraordinary talent at a time when our colleagues and communities are working hard to overcome many challenges. It’s an enormous privilege to work in housing and to play a small part in driving the agenda for quality, sustainable, affordable homes our communities and planet so desperately need. I’m so looking forward to hearing about the amazing accomplishments of the nominees at the event in June and meeting with fellow colleagues pushing for change.”
