A retirement village in Skegness celebrated its tenth anniversary at the end of last month.
Barratt Court – which is located in the seaside town – honoured the occasion with residents, their family and friends as well as local community partners and businesses.
The event included ribbon cutting, singing, the cutting of a special anniversary cake, food and drinks as well as discussions around the village’s successes and memorable occasions over the last decade.
Sarah Sutton, Director of New Customers and Specialist Housing at Platform Housing Group said: “We had such a wonderful day celebrating the 10 years since Barratt Court opened its doors. It was so lovely to get everyone together and see how the community has grown and developed over the past decade. Thanks to all those who worked hard to ensure the day was a success.”
The event was attended by the village’s oldest resident, 94 year old Jim Braybrook along with former Skegness hotelier Les Allen who has been a resident at the village since it opened.
Barratt Court has 40 apartments with a host of facilities including a hairdressing salon, a restaurant which is open to the public and a garden vegetable patch.
