Platform Housing has a Retirement Living Village called Chelmsford Court just off Newcastle Close at the edge of the Ronkswood area of the city of Worcester.  Benefits from being close to local amenities including shops, hairdressers and Worcester Royal Hospital. Regular bus services to the city centre that is just a couple of miles away.

Chelmsford Court consists of 50 unfurnished self contained one bedroom apartments with access communal facilities such as lounge, dining room, laundry room and guess facilities.

Soon to be available to rent is a one-bedroom ground floor and a one-bedroom first floor apartment with a walk in shower.

To be eligible you must be aged 60+ or aged 55 plus and in receipt of receipt of Personal Independence Payments or Disability Living Allowance.

Apartments briefly comprise of :-

If you are eligible and intend to claim Housing Benefit or Housing element of Universal Credit. Please note for all apartments some service charges would not be covered by these benefits.    This includes a £51.89pcm towards the cost of heating the apartment, £29.87pcm towards the cost of support,£5.22pcm management & administration charge and £0.28pcm for communal TV.

The preferred method of payment ongoing is via Direct Debit and we accept Housing Benefit and Universal Credit.

If you are accepted and do become a Platform Housing Group tenant, you will be offered a starter tenancy. If there have been no breaches or issues within the first year of your tenancy you will be considered for an assured or affordable rent lifetime tenancy.  

Please be aware Housing Benefit / Universal Credit will only pay for the property you are living in and you will need to give notice on your current tenancy.   

If you are successful in being offered this property you will be contacted by the Lettings Officer and you will need to complete an application form. At this stage the Lettings Officer will confirm the rent and service charges.
