Abive: Colleagues from Platform Housing Group presented the organisation’s engagement strategy up until 2026 at a recent event

Platform colleagues recently hosted a regional event on behalf of England’s leading tenant engagement experts. We've opened our doors to Tpas and around 30 of its members.

Tpas is a not for profit organisation that has been representing its members across England – of which Platform is one – since 1988; it promotes, supports and champions tenant involvement and empowerment in social housing with its members being made up of local tenants and landlord organisations, covering more than 3.5 million homes.

The event – which was attended by representatives from 17 housing organisations from across the Midlands – discussed developments within the sector and discussions around regulatory reform.

Platform colleagues presented an overview of our 2022-2026 engagement strategy and our preparations for the reform of the new Consumer Standards, an act which is set to pave the way for a stronger, more proactive way for the Regulator to check if landlords are performing and meeting the standards required of them; the Act came into force on 1 April this year.

Marion Duffy, Chief Operations Officer at Platform Housing Group said: “Engaging with our customers and delivering services that really matter to them is at the heart of what we do so we were delighted to share our passion at this event.  Working with organisations like Tpas continues to bring lasting changes to communities.”

Examples of Platform’s tenant engagement methods include:

  • Communities Connected – an initiative that encourages customer and community involvement across its communities;

  • Community Chest - a funding pot for Platform customers and local charities, clubs and other not-for-profit organisations to apply for if their work or project directly benefits Platform customers; all applications are assessed against specific eligibility criteria by customers who sit on its Customer Voice Panel;

  • Community Heroes Awards – a series of annual awards that recognise and celebrate the unsung heroes within its communities.

Lisa Holt, Membership and Events Co-ordinator from Tpas said: “We would like to say a huge thank you to the Platform team for hosting such a fabulous event; it was really humbling to hear about all the work it is doing.”

All colleagues and involved customers at Platform Housing Group have access to Tpas membership services.

Tpas support more than 300 housing associations, local authorities, resident groups and contractors covering more than 3.5million homes, ensuring they can benefit from true tenant engagement.
