Partnerships with new contractors help provide more affordable homes for Northamptonshire
New partnerships that have been announced will see more than 200 affordable homes being built on land recently purchased in Northamptonshire.
We will be working with HarperCrewe Ltd and Spitfire Homes in Rushden and Daventry respectively.
We recently announced our brand new partnership with developer HarperCrewe, which will provide an opportunity for local people to both buy and rent in Higham Ferrers, near Rushden in Northamptonshire. The development of 91 affordable homes is part of a larger 300 home site it is working on.
The deal with Spitfire Homes will see 155 homes provided at the former Malabar Farm site to include affordable rent, shared ownership, social rent and rent to buy. The first handover of homes will take place in the spring of 2026 with completion due in the autumn.
Michael Baggett, our Director of Land said: “It’s pleasing to announce we are working with two great partners on these sites to provide high quality affordable housing in the Northampton area. We feel it is particularly important to work with small to medium sized enterprises like HarperCrewe and Spitfire Homes as the relationship not only supports local economies but also helps us to deliver on important ambitions to keep building homes and help solve the housing crisis.”
Chris Walker, Managing Director at HarperCrewe said: “Creating solid relationships with reliable partners is truly a cornerstone of our business at HarperCrewe, which is why we’re delighted to work alongside Platform for the first time here at Higham Ferrers.
“Our reputation is very important to us so we choose partners carefully. Platform was a clear choice for us at Higham Ferrers, as its ethos of 'building better lives by building better homes’ fits neatly with our ambitions to deliver quality houses and thriving communities all across the Midlands and beyond.
“It’s an exciting development to be part of and is shaping up beautifully. Higham Ferrers is an aspirational location for many homebuyers and for good reason. We’re delighted to be delivering homes there, both through Platform and directly through HarperCrewe.”
Matt Vincent, Operations Director at Spitfire Homes said: “Malabar is a diverse new community located in Daventry. With a range of new facilities and views of the surrounding countryside, this new collection of homes is an exciting and popular destination for people to call home. We are proud to be partnering with Platform Housing Group who share similar values to ourselves, including a commitment to deliver quality and sustainable new homes. This partnership will enable the delivery of these properties at Malabar across a variety of tenure options, providing more people with the opportunity to call this exciting new address home.”
