Platform Housing has the Retirement Living scheme of St. Michaels just of Church Street in the market town Ledbury, Herefordshire.

Situated close the heart of the town. Ledbury has a range of local facilities and amenities including shops, churches, restaurants, theatre, doctors’ surgeries, community hospital and leisure activities. 

There is a mainline train station with direct links to direct links to Hereford, Worcester, Birmingham New Street, Oxford, Reading and London Paddington. The cities of Hereford, Worcester and Gloucester are all within 18 miles distant with the M50 motorway available within 5 miles to the south of the town.

Ledbury is surrounded by woods, orchards and hills, with footpaths winding up to the Malvern Hills

To be eligible you must be aged 55 plus and in receipt of personal independence payments or disability living allowance; or aged 60 plus. 

St. Michaels has 33 apartments suitable for one person or a couple with careline alarm & non-resident management staff.

All apartments are self-contained but if you are feeling sociable there is a communal lounge, laundry room and gardens to enjoy with your neighbours, family & friends amongst other communal facilities.

These unfurnished homes consist of

  • Lounge and bedroom for one bed apartments

Coming soon is an unfurnished first floor studio apartment with an open plan living/sleeping area that is suitable for one person. This unfurnished home has a bath with an over bath shower. Energy performance certificate rating is D.

You will be required to pay up to, £676.41 for the one bedroom flats &  up to £605.24 for a studio apartment, one month’s rent in advance prior to signing for the property. Please note our preferred method of payment is via Direct Debit and we accept Housing Benefit and Universal Credit. 

Please note if you intend to claim Housing Element of Universal Credit or Housing Benefit then for flats there are service charges of up to £16.16 pcm that would not be covered by these benefits. This includes £1.09 pcm for administration, £7.28 towards cost of water supply and £7.79 towards support. 

If you are accepted and do become a Platform Housing Group tenant, you will be offered a starter tenancy. If there have been no breaches or issues within the first year of your tenancy you will be considered for an assured lifetime tenancy.   

Please be aware Housing Benefit / Universal Credit will only pay for the property you are living in, and you will need to give notice on your current tenancy.    

If you are successful in being offered this property you will be contacted by the Lettings Officer and you will need to complete an application form. At this stage the Lettings Officer will confirm the rent and service charges.

Pets are considered in accordance with the Tenancy Management Policy.  Pets may be considered with restrictions and on a case by case basis. For example, permission may be considered for a cat/dog.
